Located within the boundaries of the Adirondack Park just west of Lake Placid, Saranac Lake was named the best small town in America. In 1998, the National Civic League named Saranac Lake an All-America City and in 2006 the village was named one of the "Dozen Distinctive Destinations" by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. (186 buildings in the village are listed on the National Register of Historic Places). Fun Fact: The Village covers parts of three towns and two counties.
As their “Decidedly Different” tagline states, The Village of Saranac Lake is one of New York’s most iconic places. And yet their previous website was anything but memorable.
The new site and CMS we designed for The Village blends vital local government functionality (service delivery, online bill payments, document management, permitting, news and more) with a healthy dose of visitor-inspired branding (recreation directories, events calendar, park + facilities mapping, activity guides) and a strong Economic Development focus (an interactive commercial real estate guide, video-powered business success stories and a downtown business guide.)
